Chief Financial Officer
Mr. Schroeder, a Certified Public Accountant, is the Chief Financial Officer and Director of our Lease Auditing Department. Mr. Schroeder is the designated point-person for external audit coordination and execution in filing of Federal, State, Multi-State, Local and Payroll tax returns. In addition, he reviews all internal operations, processes and procedures to ensure proper controls, compliance adherence and risk minimization. He also oversees the evaluation, selection, implementation and integration of all accounting and leasing software applications.
Prior to joining Exactus, Mr. Schroeder worked for over 10 years as CFO and co-founder of Heisman Properties, where he was heavily involved in development of operational infrastructure including staffing, process design/improvement, system implementation/integration and policy/procedure development. He handled many of the day-to-day operations and was in direct management of Accounting, Finance and Tax operations. Prior to Heisman, Mr. Schroeder was the Chief Financial Officer with the Los Angeles-based real estate development firm Skye Partners 2, LLC.
With an emphasis in financing and real estate transactions, Mr. Schroeder has held such high-level positions as Vice President of Finance and Taxes, and Assistant Treasurer at Spelling Entertainment Group, Inc.; Manager of Corporate Accounting at MGM/United Artists; and Chief Financial Officer at a boutique film production company. Duties at all three companies included negotiating numerous commercial leases and identifying properties for purchase at both the commercial and residential level. Prior to that, Mr. Schroeder worked as a Certified Public Accountant for Price Waterhouse in the real estate services group.
Mr. Schroeder received a Bachelor of Science in Accounting from the University of Southern California. Additionally, Mr. Schroeder holds a California and Missouri Real Estate Broker’s License, as well as a California General Contractors License.
